-- BILL $ABER, "No Copy"
Bill $aber, is not only the G.O.A.T. of dark, deep-voiced, grimy-bass beats, (specifically Phillip, The Black Goat from The Witch), but is also truly one of the most unique rapper's whose disposition and humble demeanor is directly proportionate to his talents -- which is why he is deserving of my first NON-2016-XXL-FRESHMAN-CLASS-REVIEW.
-- Outside the fact that he is about to hit mainstream play in the same sonic sphere as XXXTentacion and SkiMaskTheSlumpGod .
TRACKS TO BUMP AND MEAN MUG TO: No Copy, Let's Thank God I'm Crazy, Watchin Closely, Everybody's Favorite, Red Light Green Light, Hallelujah, Bounce , Laughin, Pushin Buttons, Boy Keep Focused, Real Slow, Finesse No Stress, AppleSauce, I Know That You Pussies Dont Want It, Cant Tame Us , Creepin n Lurkin, Gettin Colder, Crazy , Holy Water , and Halo Three Part One.
Now, I won't lie. I caught wind of $aber off a Pigeons and Planes post, but, for my pride, I'll consider that an organic discovery nonetheless. Since then, about a week or so, I have strictly listened to his SoundCloud catalogue on repeat; and let me tell you, this guy has got a language so personalized that it rivals that of Boogie's or Mick Jenkins -- both of which have released a series of albums that dig deeper and deeper into their own rabbit holes of thought and slang -- and $aber's got a voice that paints just as fluidly, but with a completely different attitude and respect toward his own grind.
He has personified his sound and atmosphere through his hair and dress -- "ram horn, trench-coat-wearing..." -- he has also shown so much love for every level of fan reaching out to him as his level of notoriety rises. I, myself, emailed him the day I found his page. As a rap fan and fan of rap rapper, discovering new music that is authentic and passionate is an occasion worth celebration.
ESPECIALLY after the past three months of X I had worn through…and his overwhelming personality that pushes through every track; I’ll be honest, I was worried. But my fucking God did Bill $aber pull through.
And I think that needs to be acknowledged, within a month of X really blowing up (Billboard Charted), getting released, and stealing all shine from any other rapper coming up off SoundCloud - $aber turned heads and grabbed ears.
His voice is demonized with some form of a chorus shadowing it, every syllable out his mouth is either drawn or slurred out to accentuate his lack of fucks in this effortless sounding style that is clearly purposeful and well-crafted when compared to the way his represents himself to his fans and on his social media accounts. He is 100% 2017 Kendrick approved — aka — humble as fuck and right-minded.
Other than repping Buffalo NY, or at the very least residing (from) there, I don’t know that much about the man and the internet doesn’t seem to either. He has 3 IPICV tapes on his SoundCloud that show the evolution of his voice and the channeling of his signature flows. It’s a fun 14 tracks that emit so much talent and eagerness to grow.
He also has a few tracks on SonicBid that show a more SchoolBoy Q side of him as well
